On the Eastern edge of Elfenstan ruled Edward the Esteemed.
With much prudence was this prince providentially provided.
For this reason his rule was revered and oft were his praises renewed.
Noble laws did he lay down, and no license did he lend to the lawless.
Trade flourished as friendly relations were fostered with those of Fayrenstay,
Whencefrom came many wonderful things which were loved.
For the men of Fayrenstay made many marvelous things,
Some for the sake of sustaining industry, some for simple pleasure.
To the capital of Elfenstan, called Kelevan by name, came gold and
Fine crystals finished for fair maidens to make gowns far more fetching.
All these made their way from mines where men of Marl dug merrily.
A great many other goods came also from other gay lands of good people.
Toys from Tor, fair food from Fellenhall, Books from Bearhaven, and more.
Prosperous were the people of Kelevan, pleased to be placed under such a
prince.
Trouble seemed far from the people indeed.
They’d known peace for a millennia, ever since
their ancestors defeated the werewolves of Reid.
They did not know the danger soon to commence.
