Can you help me with something? (Possible spoiler alert!) How was Dracula able to get in Lucy’s room without being invited? Later on, didn’t he have to convince or bribe renfield to gain entrance?
Mostly he seems to charm her into coming out or gets her to lean out her window while he is in bat form. The vampires have hypnotic powers. But the last time when he ultimately “gets her” I have some questions myself. I am not sure how he managed to drug the wine and knock out the maids. It might get revealed, but it’s been a while since I’ve read it and I’m only about 1/3 through the book this time.
I was thinking it had to do with her sleepwalking or since she had already been bitten she was hypnotized like you said. I’m also unclear about the wolf jumping through the window part and what purpose the wolf served. This is my second time reading it too, so I’m just trying to get deeper into the story :) It’s such a good book!!
The wolf broke the window for Dracula and then it seemed like he was materializing in the room. I still don’t see how he got around being invited in though. 🤷🏼♂️ It also seems that Dracula is able to be in the daylight at times. I wonder if it’s not that he is getting stronger and able to do more than he could in his weakened state.
