Great recommendation. My children loved these stories. These are some of their favorite read-aloud memories, especially King Arthur and Robin Hood.

I recently got as a set all six of his classic tales collections:

Tales of Ancient Egypt

Tales of the Greek Heroes

The Tale of Troy

Myths of the Norsemen

King Arthur

the Adventures of Robin Hood

Being as I am in my '60s I figured it was time to fill in some gaps in my education.

Wonderful! I have complete study guides on my substack for Tales of Ancient Egypt and Tales of the Greek Heroes. I will have more eventually. Actually, the Greek Heroes was the first one I did. I want to go back at some point and touch it up, I wasn’t fully settled in my approach at first. But it’s still helpful I think.

Wow, this is really exciting. Thank you for introducing this author. I love great children's literature. They are often perfect examples of beauty in simplicity, and the truly great examples are as compelling to adults as children.

I didn't realize Green was an inkling! That's exciting information. I like that you shared an excerpt, too.

Green has become rather obscure in North America, but he shouldn't be.
