I actually despised it and shut it off not long into it. I felt that they completely misunderstood Marcus’ character and the relationship between him and Essa. Perhaps I am just too picky.
No probably not haha. For me I saw the movie first and then read the book. If I do it the other way around I always hate the movie since it is usually lacking in comparison.
Yep, even the best movie adaptations still can’t contain all that the book does or it misses some important aspects of the book. LOTR movies are great, but they really misunderstand some things and they leave out several really crucial parts of the book (like the scouring of the Shire).
This is literature book #1 when I teach the medieval/Renaissance year. (4 lit books per year). I appreciate the resource!
