I am a homeschool mom of 4 and spent over an hour the other day looking up the differences between various humanities, and great books courses for my 7th grader-going into 8th next year. We teach classical education at home and the concept of having integrated courses is extremely exciting. Every year, I seem to piece together what I deem to be my favorites from different publishers, and doing so with uncertainty, since my daughter is the oldest, and middle school/preparing for high school is new to us. Our family has really enjoyed the study guides you have put forth and are currently using the Genesis questions to facilitate a family discussion as we read during Bible time. Can't wait to see what you create next and what the Lord builds from your work. Our family will be praying for the Lord to bless the opportunity at Repairing the Ruins and the future of STGB.

This comment was a real blessing to me. Thank you for your encouragement! I only wish I could produce this material fast enough for it to be of more use to you in the here and now. Please don’t hesitate to let me know if you need any help with curriculum options (I have a pretty good eye on what is presently available among the different curriculum houses). Also, if you ever see anything in my material that isn’t quite right, grammatically, factually, or otherwise is just unclear or unhelpful, would you please let me know? I am the sole person on this project and so I welcome more eyes and helpful feedback. Blessings to you and your family!

That’s certainly great news. How can we get involved and contribute? Need volunteers?

Hello, the main way you can contribute is by subscribing, sharing, and giving your feedback. I would love to have people going through the available books studies and working through the questions and material so they can give me their feedback. Was the material good, understandable, useful. Anyone who could try it out at home with their kids or in their classroom and give me feedback would be super helpful.

I was going to comment but something told me to look at the comments first.

I'm glad I did, this is exactly what I was going to ask and the answer I was looking for.

Noted. Will do!

Great! Iron sharpen iron! I need people to be honest about what is good and what maybe is not so good. Any questions that don’t make sense I need to know about, etc.

Wonderful, I made a commitment to myself not too long ago to be honest in everything.

It has the tendency to seem too harsh or blunt, but seems perfect for this type of assignment!

I also asked my readers early on to do the same with my ideas and writings, though it doesn't always happen.

Excited to follow your journey! I am making it a point to see you at Repairing the Ruins this summer. I am stepping into the role of Academic Dean and Director of Operations at Providence School of Tifton in two short weeks. We also are working on a similar task, so I would love to encourage you through the work!

Dr. Rucker, thank you for subscribing and helping to make this possible! I will look forward to seeing you there this summer. Have you been before? They are great conferences. I’d love to hear more about your school and the things you all are up to. Let me know if I can be a help and encouragement to you in any way!

This will be my first Repairing the Ruins conference, and I have heard marvelous things about it. Providence is a new CCE school in rural South Georgia. This year is year #3. I have the privilege of joining their faculty with an initial priority of writing the upper school curriculum. We are approaching 100 students this year and anticipate more growth next school year. We are adding a grade each year and will add grade 10 next academic year. I look forward to meeting you in June. My school email is jrucker@providencetift.com.
