How to Read a Book is one gift I give every high school graduate. The school district I had to endure in Minnesota did not educate students. For decades self-education has been a focus and Mortimer Adler has been a gift I wish I would have had sooner.
As a designer by profession I know the work it takes to put together readable documents and I’m thankful for the posts you have written on the subject of education. I’ve been tackling the understanding of the Trivium for several years and what you have posted has been very helpful.
Thank you so much. I can’t hope to articulate how valuable it has been for me (and my family) to stumble across your works and references recently. I wish I had this level of depth insight and structure available to me years ago - it’s never too late though and perhaps I was only supposed to find it now when I have a much greater emotional depth to understand the context and importance of what you are providing . thank you
Thanks Jacob, appreciate the direction it is helpful for the world has much useless reading material just like the latest short videos out there that do not expand one’s intellect but rather makes more and more people dumber. Substack is my new go to for this next year and finding you has been an encouragement in the right direction. Blessings bro
I am so glad to hear that my articles have been a blessing to you. Let me know if there is anything I can do to help you in your pursuit of classical education!

Mortimer Adler is definitely a blessing to the world! I too had to get an education after leaving high school, so I understand.

Substack is a real blessing in the world of “social media.” Thanks for your kind words! I am glad to be encouraging however I may!

I picked up a complete set at a 2nd & Charles for quite a good price.
Awesome! I wish they’d put it and the larger GBWW set back in to publication.
Yeah, it would be nice. I was fortunate enough to be able to pick up a set along with the Great Ideas program. Still lowley progressing through.
