"Nihilistic eschatology" is a good one! But I'd argue against 'brave nihilism' here: 'defiant,' maybe?
Perhaps a better phrase, though I do not attribute the term “brave” with the same qualitative value as courage or fortitude. Brave actions are not always wise or good.
